40 Years of Loving Dance
Suzi Hughson started the dance studio in 1979. She still continues to contribute and support the success of all the students.
To give each child the opportunity to explore the art of dance using their own creativity and imagination. With guidance and encouragement, each child will develop at their own pace and will grow in self-confidence and individuality.
Love of Dance
Dance is the way we express ourselves when words are insufficient. We are all wonderfully unique, knowing that we are so much more. But sometimes it’s hard to know how to prove it. So Let’s Dance!
Meet Miss Amanda
Amanda Harrison-Gold was born and raised in Seguin. At the age of three she began dancing and by her kindergarten year was a regular at Suzi Hughson’s School of Dance. Everyone knew the stage was where she belonged.
In 1987 she participated in her first competition…she was hooked. Dancing soon became her passion. She knew dance would be in her future. Upon graduating from Seguin High School in 1998, she made her way up the road to Texas State University to pursue a major in Dance with a teaching certification. She accomplished that goal in May 2002. During the summer of 2005, Amanda made her transition when Miss Suzi (long-time teacher of 20 years) passed the torch. This is how the tradition continues…
Miss Amanda is a certified teacher through the Texas Board of Educators and is a member of Dance Masters of America – Chapter 3, South Texas Association of Dance Teachers, Inc. and Texas Association Teachers of Dancing. Membership to these prestigious organizations is acquired through examination in each dance field. Currently, Miss Amanda is the President of South Texas Association of Dance Teachers, DMA Chapter 3.
